I just returned from the Level One training of Lifespan Integration in Albuquerque, NM and I am so excited to share what I learned with you! I want to begin with a metaphor my trainer, Wesley Linam, used to describe our experience as humans. She showed us a Russian nesting doll and then open the largest doll and allowed all the smaller pieces to scatter across the table. As we live life, we all experience trauma events at times. When a traumatic event happens, a part of ourselves becomes fragmented, separate from our whole selves. As this happens repeatedly, we begin to feel the effects of fragmentation: depression, anxiety, checking out mentally, anger, acting out, among others. What Lifespan Integration offers is a gentle approach that helps us put our "pieces," or fragmented parts back together. As we heal and put the pieces back together, our relationships improve, PTSD symptoms clear, triggers are less intense or non-existent and quality of life improves.
I will post again soon and expand on how and what Lifespan Integration can do. Stay tuned!
