Who is leading the group? Tenille Jensen, Licensed marriage & family therapist, and Amy Johnson, Certified Yoga Instructor are joining to help survivors of trauma heal through group therapy and yoga. Tenille is trained in multiple trauma treatment techniques and Amy has specialized training in trauma-informed yoga. Who is the group for? Adults who have experienced trauma, which may include: childhood abuse, sexual assault, betrayal trauma (affairs or partner with pornography addiction), sudden or traumatic death of a loved one, domestic violence, severe illness or injury, among others. What will participants learn? Participants will learn how trauma affects the brain, daily functioning and relationships. They will gain effective tools for coping with the effects of trauma including: relaxation techniques, communication skills, emotion regulation tools as well as breathing, focus and gentle body exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences or just listen and learn from others. What is the cost? The cost is $225 for five 2-hour sessions. Insurance may cover a portion of the cost. (Call for more information). $75 deposit required to hold your spot, since space is limited. When is it and how do I register? The group begins, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 10:30 AM-12:30 PM. The group will meet weekly for five weeks, with no group the week of Oct. 17th.
